MMS Aviation prepares people and airplanes for worldwide missionary service. They prepare airplanes by performing repairs and modifying aircraft for the unique needs of mission field flying. They do not charge mission organizations for their labor, because everyone at MMS is a faith-supported missionary. There are currently 31 people serving with MMS. Ten of those are apprentices who will serve with other mission organizations when their training is complete. The training is hands-on, and the aircraft they prepare will be used to take the gospel to unreached people in some of the most remote places on earth. MMS has been serving since 1975. Airplanes, pilots, and mechanics who were prepared at MMS are serving all over the world.
Phil and Elizabeth Maddux first came to MMS in 2005 to complete the apprenticeship. In 2007 they completed the training and joined a team working in North Africa. In 2011, they were called back to MMS and have been serving there since that time. They have 3 grown children, and 4 grandchildren (with 2 more on the way!). Phil serves as MMS’s President and CEO, and Elizabeth is the office manager.
We believe that all Christians are called to obey the Great Commission, spoken by Jesus in Matthew 28:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20, NIV).
In obedience to that command, our mission is to prepare people and airplanes for worldwide missionary service.
